I started writing on Substack early 2026. I got tired of not completing the writing I started. So I oriented towards publishing, not to keep to a schedule but to keep a promise to myself.

Sometime in late June, I felt the urge to give the Black Cat a home, outside of the walled garden. I have more pieces that are not fiction that have never left my Google Drive.

My name is Claire.

Fifty and I live in Singapore. Recently I stopped work to care for my parents.

I graduated from architecture school and met Deleuze and Guattari there. I still re-read them today. But I am not an architect. And I do read other books. Fun books.

Between leaving school and now, I have led different lives. In marketing, advertising, retail and e-commerce. I’ve built websites for others but never my own.

What I am trying to do here is build a website, and a home for my projects. To share them. Without all the bells and whistles. To do it, I leaned toward the spirit of the tiny house movement. Not because it’s cheap. Or temporary. But to build just what is needed. And go from there.

Someone once told me in order to belong, I needed to belong to myself first. I am doing that. Little by little each day.

Nothing on these pages are waiting for me to hurry.
